Clinical Practice Committee

The Clinical Practice Committee (CPC) serves as a collaborative forum to enhance member engagement and foster cross-disciplinary partnership across subspecialties within anesthesiology-based critical care. The CPC supports a growing portfolio of initiatives aimed at improving clinical practice, sharing expertise, and promoting innovation. Through its subcommittees, the CPC integrates diverse clinical perspectives into the broader work of SOCCA, contributing to the Society’s mission of advancing excellence in critical care.

Communications Committee

The Communications Committee supports SOCCA’s mission by leading its internal and external communication efforts. This includes producing the SOCCA Interchange quarterly newsletter and developing strategies to engage members and the broader community through dynamic, timely, and relevant content. The committee oversees a Social Media Subcommittee to maintain a consistent online presence across platforms and disseminate critical updates from the Society and the field.

Education Committee

The Education Committee plans and supervises the educational and scientific content of the SOCCA Annual Meeting. It also collaborates with the ASA Educational Track Subcommittee on Critical Care to assist with planning and content within the Anesthesiology meeting's Critical Care Medicine track. The committee collaborates with other societies in organizing and hosting joint educational sessions. Apart from meeting planning, the committee aims to identify and create professional development resources and enduring educational content for critical care trainees and SOCCA members to improve knowledge, competence, skills, and effectiveness.

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee cultivates a dynamic and inclusive membership that reflects the diverse professional backgrounds and interests of the Society. The committee oversees membership outreach, engagement initiatives, and three key subcommittees: Women in Critical Care (WICC), Early Career Intensivists (EC), and Physicians in Private Practice (PPP).

Research Committee

The Research Committee fosters scholarship and collaboration to advance scientific discovery in anesthesiology-based critical care. The committee serves as a hub for investigators at all career stages, supporting the development, dissemination, and implementation of impactful research. Through strategic initiatives and partnership with other SOCCA committees, the Research Committee helps shape the Society’s research agenda, promote multi-institutional collaboration, and mentor the next generation of clinician-scientists.
